Roast beef dinner cooked in your slow cooker until you are ready to eat it! Perfect winter comfort food dish.
Ingredients
  • 3-4 lbs. chuck roast (shoulder cut)
  • 1½ c. red wine
  • 7-8 large potatoes, peeled, cut in half, and washed
  • 5-6 large carrots
  • ¼ - ½ c. butter
  • ⅓ c. flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ c. sour cream
  • ¼ - ½ c. milk or half and half
Instructions
  1. Season roast with salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and onion powder. Brown both sides in a hot pan with a few TBSP of oil.
  2. Cut up a large onion and put in bottom of the slow cooker. Place browned roast on top of onions.
  3. Deglaze pan with red wine. Simmer for 1 minute and pour over roast/onion in slow cooker.
  4. Place carrots around roast and potatoes on top of the carrots. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  5. Remove potatoes and mash with milk, butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Keep warm.
  6. Remove liquid from slow cooker and bring to a simmer in a pan. Thicken with roux and serve over roast and mashed potatoes.

A spicy Chinese favorite, this recipe is easy to whip up any night of the week.
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into bite size strips
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 c. fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 small onions, cut into wedges
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained
  • ¼ c. chicken broth
  • ½ c. peanuts
Instructions
  1. Toss beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, crushed red pepper and garlic in non-metal bowl. Cover and refrigerate 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in wok or large skillet over high heat. Stir fry beef until no longer pink, 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in broccoli, onions and water chestnuts; cook 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in broth, and bring to a boil. Stir in peanuts, cook one minute more.
  5. Serve over rice.

Easy to make and delicious to eat, this recipe may become the only one you use for meatloaf.
Ingredients
  • Meatloaf:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ½ cup chopped green and red bell pepper
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup pineapple preserves
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Sauce:
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup pineapple preserves
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, bell peppers, onion, egg, ⅓ cup ketchup, ¼ cup pineapple preserves, ¼ cup brown sugar, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a food processor until combined; put into a bread pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  4. Stir ⅓ cup ketchup, ¼ cup pineapple preserves, and ¼ cup brown sugar together in a bowl; pour over the meatloaf.
  5. Continue baking until no longer pink in the center, about 20 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Progresso Recipe Starters adds a wonderful flavor to this ground beef and pasta meal.
Ingredients
  • 3 cups uncooked rigatoni or ziti pasta (9 oz)
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • ½ cup sliced green onions (8 medium)
  • 1 can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce*
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
Instructions
  1. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package; set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet, cook beef and green onions over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
  3. Stir in pasta, cooking sauce and barbecue sauce. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheese. Cover; let stand 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Ingredients
  • 1 (4 -5 lb) beef roast, any kind
  • 1 (1¼ ounce) package brown gravy mix, dry
  • 1 (1¼ ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 (1¼ ounce) package ranch dressing mix, dry
  • ½ cup water
Instructions
  1. Place beef roast in crock pot.
  2. Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.
  3. Pour the water around the roast.
  4. Cook on low for 7-9 hours.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 ounce box elbow macaroni 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ¼ cup chopped celery
  • ¼ cup chopped bell pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
  1. Prepare elbow macaroni according to box instructions. Drain.
  2. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
  3. Heat oil in nonstick skillet on medium heat. Cook celery, onions, garlic, and peppers until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef, and cook until brown. Drain excess fat.
  5. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and spices. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Add macaroni and stir in one cup of cheddar cheese.
  7. Pour mixture into lightly greased 9 by 11 inch pan. Top with remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
